SLDN Sports Coaching Course at TAD Sports Lab

SLDN (Sistem Latihan Dual Nasional) is a program by Jabatan Kemahiran Malaysia, offering hands-on, skills-based education for pre-university students, such as SPM leavers. It can be compared to vocational colleges (Kolej Vokasional), with common courses in fields like baking, hospitality, automotive, and massage.

At TAD Sports Lab, we are proud to be the first in Malaysia to offer a Sports Coaching Course under the SLDN program.

Course Structure:

• The course is structured with 20% classroom lectures and 80% hands-on practical experience, ensuring students apply their knowledge directly to the sports field.
• There are 7 modules, each taking about 1-2 months to complete, depending on the module content.
• The total duration to complete the course is approximately 1 year, assuming all modules are passed on schedule.
• This course is conducted physically at Setia SPICE Aquatic Centre, Bayan Lepas, Penang.

Career Pathways: Upon graduation, students can pursue careers in various industries, including:

• Sports Training (e.g., Sport Trainer, Assistant Trainer)
• Sports Coordination (e.g., Sports Officer, Event Coordinator)
• Educational Institutions (e.g., coaching roles in schools or academies)
• Public Services, Sports Tourism, Clubs & Associations
• Sports Media (e.g., Sports Journalism, Commentator, Public Relations)
• Entrepreneurship (e.g., starting a sports-related business)
• Graduates will have opportunities across sectors like sports marketing, advertising, sports activity centers, and more.

Currently, the SLDN course we offer is at the Certificate level. After completing our SLDN course, students can continue their education at the Diploma level at other local universities. They may pursue diplomas in fields like Sports Management, Sports Nutrition, Sports Science, and other related disciplines, as long as the course outlines align with the modules covered in our SLDN program.

By 2026, all government universities in Malaysia will officially recognize the SLDN Certificate, further expanding opportunities for graduates to continue their education.
